99% say that Epson projectors have the most vivid colours1
No-one sells more projectors than Epson. Why? Because our projectors bring content to life thanks to bright, vivid and clear images, even in brightly-lit rooms.
Epson projectors have an equally high White and Colour Light Output (CLO), meaning they deliver bright, vivid colours. They are even up to three times brighter than competitor 1-chip DLP projectors1.
Enjoy bright, vivid colours without it costing the earth. Epson projectors’ equally high White and Colour Light Output means your content will always look great - without the need to spend loads on a projector with really high lumens. In fact, to help you save even further, our projectors can give you up to 15-years-worth of entertainment thanks to a bulb and filter life of up to 10,000 hours in eco mode2.
Why is CLO important?
When colour brightness is lower those colours may appear duller and washed out. Simply put, dull colours can make the image as a whole look lifeless. They can also make detail hard to see and may fall short when it comes to maintaining interest and attention. This might not be an issue in a darkened living room but it can be a real problem in the classroom when giving a lesson or the office when giving an important business presentation, especially if you are in a room with poor blackout facilities. Luckily Epson 3LCD projectors show bright images even without closing the blinds.

Why care about CLO?
Experience brighter images with vivid colours
Don’t just take our word for it. In a blind test 8 out of 10 people said our projector had the brightest image with the most vivid colours.
Easily see what’s on screen
A dull image means you can’t easily read text or make out images on screen. With a brighter image you can easily see what’s being shown and make out the detail.
Help keep costs down
You get a brighter picture with more vivid colours when you have an equally high colour and white light output, so you don’t need to buy a projector with more lumens.
No interruptions
Epson’s 3LCD technology delivers a clear image that won’t have the “rainbow effect” that can affect some 1-chip DLP projectors.
Home entertainment
Create a spectacular cinema-style occasion for friends and family. Enjoy films, gaming, sporting events and once-in-a-lifetime spectacles with bright images and vivid colours, even in brightly-lit rooms.
Business
Deliver show-stopping presentations to leave a lasting impression. Thanks to bright whites and vivid colours, an Epson projector can help you ensure all your hard work looks great.
Education
Bright images lead to brighter, more engaging classes. Inspire students to achieve the best results by creating a colourful, immersive learning environment.
Brightness alone cannot bring the true colours you see everyday to life. Following this philosophy, only Epson’s 3LCD technology combines brightness and True Colour to create vivid, lifelike images. We do this by making sure the coloured light our projectors show is just as bright as the white light.
While other manufacturers believe they can improve image quality by just increasing the brightness of their projectors’ white light output, Epson ensures that its projectors have an equally high white and Colour Light Output (CLO). A high lumens brightness on its own does not equal bright, lifelike images, and a comparably low CLO can make for dull, washed out images. However, when colour brightness matches the white light brightness in lumens you get vivid, true colours that really bring your content to life.

1 Colour brightness (colour light output) in brightest mode, measured by a third-party lab in accordance with IDMS 15.4. Colour brightness will vary depending on usage conditions. Top-selling Epson 3LCD projectors versus top-selling 1-chip DLP projectors based on NPD sales data for May 2017 - April 2018.
2 Lamp and filter life 10,000 hours in eco mode. Figure based on a typical film length of 105mins when the projector is in Eco Mode.
3 In August 2015 Epson conducted a blind shoot-out between its 3LCD projector, EH-TW5200, and competitor 1-chip DLP projectors: BenQ TH681+, Optoma HD26; Acer H6510BD and Viewsonic PJD7822HDL. The competitor projectors have the same resolution as the Epson projector (1080p resolution (1920 x 1080), the same quoted lumens level of the Epson projector or above, and minimum contrast ratio of 10,000:1.
Each projector was housed in a plain wooden box so that it its identity was hidden. Wires and remote controls were hidden and no projector brand or model names were mentioned. Epson engaged an independent company to conduct a survey of 206 members of the public who were shown 4 static images on a slide loop with all projectors set to brightest default colour mode established by testing with a lux meter. Viewers were asked questions including, “If you had to choose one of these projectors today, which one of these would you choose to own?”. Viewers had the option to state their preferred projector or select “none of these”; 83% chose Epson.
